Getting Real with God through the Psalms
On Wednesdays in Lent through March 24, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Buffalo will host Getting Real with God through the Psalms from 7 to 8:15 p.m. This free, five-session course is open to the public and will offer the opportunity to discover more about the importance of the Psalms in communicating authentically with God.
Session topics include:
- an overview of the history, authorship and types of Psalms
- a specific look at the Psalms of Thanksgiving, Lament and Comfort
- how to use the Psalms as prayer
- how to write psalms
- why and how psalmody is used in the context of worship.
