Getting Real with God through the Psalms

On Wednesdays in Lent through March 24, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Buffalo will host Getting Real with God through the Psalms from 7 to 8:15 p.m. This free, five-session course is open to the public and will offer the opportunity to discover more about the importance of the Psalms in communicating authentically with God.

Session topics include:

  • an overview of the history, authorship and types of Psalms
  • a specific look at the Psalms of Thanksgiving, Lament and Comfort
  • how to use the Psalms as prayer
  • how to write psalms
  • why and how psalmody is used in the context of worship.

Each evening will conclude with compline. This course is co-sponsored by the following Episcopal congregations in Buffalo: St. Andrew’s; St. John’s-Grace; St. Matthew’s-All Saints’; St. Philip’s; St. Paul’s Cathedral. Contact Dean Derrick Fetz with any questions.
